PALM DATE
One of the most primeval trees, is Date tree (named Palm), which carries Seven thousand years of history. Its fruit have had a significant role in ancient people’s feeding and also occupation.
The palm’s fruit, Date, is rich in nutrients. 75% of it, is composed of sugars and carbohydrates. It contains plenty of vitamins A, B and C, In addition to protein, fat and minerals.
Fleshy part of the date is very sweet and tasty, which allocates approximately 50-88 % of its weight. Almost two-thirds of the weight is composed of different types of sugars, about a quarter is fruit juice of the date, and the rest consists of proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins.
Minerals in date includes Iron, Manganese, Calcium, Phosphorus, Sodium, Potassium and Copper. There is 1430 to 1500 Kcal of energy in 350-400 grams of date.

Classification of date by type
Dried Dates
It refers to a ripe date which the moisture is below 18%.
Semi Dried Dates
It refers to a ripe date with the moisture between 18% and 20%.
Soft Dates
It refers to a ripe date with the moisture between 20% and 23%.
Rotab
It refers to a ripe and juicy date, which the moisture is between 23% and 38%.
